A NEW order has been placed for the supply of an additional 25 Lot 16 Bell AH-1Z Viper helicopters to the US Marine Corps.  A $439,563,841 modification to a previously awarded fixed-price-incentive contract was awarded to Bell Helicopter Textron Inc on January 18 by US Naval Air Systems Command, on behalf of the USMC, covering production and delivery of these helicopters, along with 25 stores control units.

Work on the deal is expected to be completed in January 2022.  Financing for the purchase comes from fiscal year 2018 aircraft procurement (Navy) funding.  The order follows a contract for 29 Lot 15 AH-1Zs, which was awarded to the manufacturer on August 23, 2018.
