SEVEN SCHWEIZER RSG S-300C helicopters have been delivered to the Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Darat (TNI-AD – Indonesian Army Aviation) for pilot training. Their arrival was announced on January 24 by the Dinas Kelaikan Angkatan Darat (Army Service Office), which said that they had been undergoing acceptance test flights two days earlier on January 22 with Skadron Udara Angkatan Darat 11 Serbu (11th Army Aviation Assault Squadron) at General Achmad Yani International Airport, Semarang, Java.
Serials of the new helicopters are HL-4217, HL-4218, HL-4219, HL-4220, HL-4221, HL-4222 and HL-4223. The TNI-AL said that the acceptance tests had proceeded smoothly without any problems on six of the helicopters, but the seventh, HL-4220, had a slight magneto problem which had to be overcome. After tests had been completed and military certification achieved, the helicopters were due to enter operational service with the Sekolah Penerbang (Flight School) at Semarang. The School already operates older models of the type, along with Bell 412EPs, EC120 Colibris and NBo105CBs.
