A SECOND AW101 Series 612 has been delivered to the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF) by Leonardo Helicopters.  The helicopter, serial 0265 (c/n 50265, ex ZZ102), callsign ‘NORW5001’, left the Leonardo Helicopters factory in Yeovil, Somerset, on January 19, initially flying to Newcastle Airport.  After a lunchtime fuel stop, it flew directly from there to Stavanger-Sola Flystasjon, Norway.

As previously reported on Warnsey’s World, the first RNoAF AW101, 0268 (c/n 20268, ex ZZ103), had been delivered from Yeovil to Sola on November 17.  However, only a week later, on November 24, the helicopter was badly damaged when it rolled over onto its side while ground-running at Sola.  The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.  It is reported that it will now be shipped back to Yeovil for repairs.
