WORK IS progressing on manufacture of the first Royal Air Force (RAF) Boeing P-8A Poseidon MRA1.  The fuselage for the aircraft, ZP801 (line number 7532), has been completed by Spirit AeroSystems at its facility in Wichita, Kansas.  On April 11 the UK Poseidon team announced that the fuselage had been loaded onto a railcar for transport to the Boeing Defense final assembly line in Renton, Washington.

First flight of this aircraft is scheduled for October of this year.  Nine Poseidons have been ordered for the RAF and the aircraft will be based at RAF Lossiemouth, Moray, where work is continuing to build the necessary infrastructure to house the new type.  They will be operated by 120 and 201 Squadrons.
